Mathematics
At Clayton we aim to provide opportunities for pupils to develop

their confidence in a range of methods and techniques that prepares them for the challenges that are set in front of them.
We try to develop enquiring minds and provide opportunities for pupils to tackle problems with more than one approach and to solve open-ended problems.
I feel that we have a very rich mathematics curriculum that has something for everyone and allows pupils to develop their numeracy skills through working with other departments to getting involved in the many extra curricular activities that take place.
Peer, self assessment and target setting opportunities allow pupils to consider where they are and how to move on, hopefully becoming increasingly confident and independent.
Finally, we really are there to help and if any pupil has any problem with their work, then they can approach any member of staff for help with that problem.
I hope that your son/daughter thoroughly enjoys their time at Clayton and if there are any problems, then please do not hesitate to contact the school.
